About BuckeyeBuckeye is a town in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States and is the westernmost suburb in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The population was 6,537 at the 2000 census. From 2000 to 2010, the Buckeye town population growth percentage was 678.3% as it had 50,876 people at the 2010 census. However, Town citizens recently voted to change the Town into the City of Buckeye, which now encompasses over 600 square miles in the master plan. As of the census of 2000, there were 6,537 people, 2,158 households, and 1,624 families residing in the town. The population density was 44.8 people per square mile (17.3/km²). There were 2,344 housing units at an average density of 16.1/sq mi (6.2/km²).
